Chinese company UBTECH, who specializes in AI and humanoid robotics is building the ultimate Star Wars collectible, a First Order designed Stormtrooper Robot. Some of the known features for now include voice recognition, enhanced facial recognition, augmented reality capabilities and sentry patrolling.

The company released the following statement:
“We are thrilled to launch the Star Wars Stormtrooper Robot by UBTECH,” said James Chow, CEO, UBTECH. “Both Star Wars and UBTECH put a great focus on innovation and family-friendly technology. Together, we are delivering a new and interactive experience for Star Wars fans.”
One of its key features is that it can remember and react differently to up to three different faces using biometric identification. Other than this however, not much more information, details or hands-on demonstrations have been released. Some U.K. websites (Very and Toys R Us) have been listing it at £299.99 but nothing official for the U.S. More information is likely to surface closer to the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi on December 13th. Until then, they have released a small teaser video preview which can be found here.
I'm not sure how reliable the robotic capabilities will eventually turn out, but in terms of design alone it would make a great collectors item for fans of the franchise.
